CAPT Joseph Baczkowski became the Acting Director of NOAA’s N-Wave program in March 2025 and has been the Manager of the Engagement and Outreach portfolio since January 2023. He is a US Public Health Service Commissioned Officer attached to NOAA since 2009. His assignments include Chief Information Officer of NOAA’s Office of Marine and Aviation Operations and Acting Director of NOAA’s Cloud Program Office. Prior to NOAA he has held various cyber roles on government and military assignments. He also served eight years in the US Army Infantry as a signal specialist and three years in the US Air Force as a cyber and satellite operator.

 

Adam Nemethy is N-Wave’s Deputy Director and Manager of the Transport portfolio. In his roles with N-Wave, Adam is involved in N-Wave’s strategic planning efforts and is responsible for direct oversight of technical operations and management of all N-Wave campus services, including Enterprise Transport, Enterprise Wireless, Enterprise Remote Access VPN (ERAV), Managed LAN, Managed Firewall and Campus Core Networks. He has been with NOAA since 2014 and N-Wave since 2018.
